What’s your title/role at Qventus?
I’m a Technical Implementation Partner, and I coordinate and manage the technical implementation of our inpatient solution. This includes getting data feeds up and running, crafting technical specifications for client build, developing and executing end-to-end testing plans, and overall working closely both internally and externally to ensure a smooth and timely go-live.
Where are you based?
Denver, CO
Can you share some background on yourself?
I’m originally from Massachusetts and attended college in Maine. Throughout college, I thought I wanted to pursue a career in medicine, but after taking multiple computer science courses and falling in love with tech, I became less certain. I worked at Epic for a few years after college and decided that healthcare tech was the perfect niche for me. When I came across the job opportunity at Qventus, I was immediately interested. Qventus’ mission of simplifying healthcare really resonated with me, and I was so excited to join a team of talented individuals that share a passion for that mission.
Which Qventus value resonates most with you and why?
“Plan, do, learn, improve” is the value I think I most embody. I even won the Clara Barton Award for it this year!
What’s your favorite Qventus memory to date?
The OhioHealth go-live! It was my first go-live and so rewarding to see everything come together. Also, the relationship between OhioHealth and Qventus was incredibly collaborative and continues to be—they are great partners!
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
I love seeing everything come together at go-live and beyond! There’s nothing like seeing our product go live and hearing about the outcomes customers have achieved with it (decrease in excess days, improved rounding efficiency, and more).
However, I also find a lot of the pre-go-live work rewarding. I love problem-solving, figuring out how we can best meet customer requests with our solution, catching issues early, and collaborating with others (both internally and externally).
What’s your secret talent?
I wouldn’t say I have a secret talent, but I am decently above average at crossword puzzles—I do the NYT crossword every day—and guessing the name and artist of a song when hearing it. My dad often used to ask me, “Do you know who sings this?” and so I developed a weird habit of memorizing the answers.
What are your top 3 favorite books, podcasts, or movies?
I have too many favorite podcasts that it’s hard to list just three… but in no particular order, I’m going to go with:
- 5-4
- GUILT
- National Park After Dark
But if I’m allowed to continue…
- Media Pressure
- Nobody Should Believe Me
- Stuff You Should Know
If you could have dinner with any historical or famous figure, who would it be and why?
Steve Irwin. I loved watching The Crocodile Hunter while growing up and I think he would be an amazing person to talk with.
