Today we’re spotlighting Alan Panuccio, a Data Engineer Lead from the Inpatient Data Platform team. Read on to hear about David’s path to Qventus, learn about his favorite parts of the job, and discover his hidden talent. (Hint: it’s a tasty one).

What’s your role at Qventus?

I’m the Data Engineer Lead from the Inpatient Data Platform team.  My main responsibilities are to manage go live projects as well as analytics initiatives that help Qventus to provide accurate and relevant information internally and to our clients. This includes everything from the very initial data ingestion to final Analytics Dashboards as well as real time Qventus Intelligence.

Where are you based?

Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Can you share some background on yourself?

I’m a former software engineer from the University of La Matanza (UNLAM) with 14 years of experience in IT roles. I’ve spent most of my career in the banking and financial industry, with the last two years in e-commerce before joining Qventus. I’m also the Head of Department Teacher in the Data Science Course from UNLAM’s engineering program, and I’ve been working there for the last six years since the course was created.

Which Qventus value resonates most with you and why?

Helping others succeed as I believe that is the path we all should take always, I also believe that this value is intrinsic to all other values and empower them from the very beginning.

What’s your favorite Qventus memory to date?

My favorite non-professional memory is off-site karaoke with my Qventus co-workers. My favorite professional memory is the on-site NYP Expansion go-live. It was an incredible experience to be there and hear how the company’s services are used in real life when speaking with nurses and physicians.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

All the learning about AI and the healthcare industry is definitely at the top, but also seeing the real impact in lives saved. It was amazing for me when we got feedback from OhioHealth explaining what the QV Intelligence improvements really meant in terms of patient lives saved.

What’s your secret talent?

I love baking! Dreaming to have a bigger kitchen to practice and develop more skills there!

What are your top 3 favorite books, podcasts, or movies?

My favorite movie is Back to the Future, and my two favorite books are Homo Deus by Harari and The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Morris.

If you could have dinner with any historical or famous figure, who would it be and why?

Issac Newton or Nicola Tesla. I would really love to know how they thought in order to achieve everything they did.
